Albert Kirk Jr has been writing poetry since 2020. He is from Ayrshire in Scotland, which means that he is contractually obliged to mention “heaven-taught ploughman” Robert Burns. Like Burns, Albert was born in a two-roomed clay and thatch cottage; unlike Burns, Albert has never considered being an overseer in a sugar plantation, and nor is he a high-ranking freemason. Albert’s favourite poet is William Topaz McGonagall.
