Loved by Ian Copestick

Brit Grit, Ian Copestick, Poetry, Punk Noir Magazine

Here I sit, alone downstairs in the dark.
Anything to get away from that awful
Belittling, humiliating voice. The
One that belongs to the woman
I have
Loved for the last 16 years. It’s really
Strange how quickly love can turn
To hate. For so many years of my life
I loved this woman, now I hate her
With all of my heart. She shouts down
To me, ” You fucking prick ! ” Yes
This is the woman I have loved for
All these years.
What can I say but, more fool me !
Loved – is there a sadder word in the
English language ? It says that something
Was there, but now it’s  gone.
